Ports

The MX-100 allows for 8 separately configured Bi-directional slave ports to communicate to a 9th port called the Master.

Buffers

Large Transmit and Receive buffers for data loss prevention. 32K Total.

Configuration Port

The 10th port allows remote configuration of the other 9 ports. This port is preconfigured as 9600-8-N-1 and uses only Rx and Tx lines.

Baud Rates

300, 1200, 2400, 4800, 9600, and (19.2 on the Master port)

Data Format

Parity (Odd, Even or None) Data bits (7 or 8) Stop bits (1 or 2)

Control Lines

Rx, Tx, CTS, RTS, (DTR on the Master port)

Handshaking

Software or hardware RTS / CTS.

3 Modes of operation

___1.) Auto-scan for data. Typical usage serial printer sharing.

___2.) Code selected. Active port may be code selected by the master port.

___3.) High-performance statistical multiplexor mode. In this mode 8 serial ports are funnelled out the master, sent some distance over a single set of Rx, Tx lines or over a modem then back to another Mx-100 to be redistributed to 8 ports once again.
Note# This option requires a firmware change.
